Sandon is located about 6km from Newstead on the Newstead Creswick
road. The area is rich in history and once in gold, being part of the
historic goldfields district. Both Castlemaine and Daylesford are about
20 km from the property. Ballarat & Bendigo are equidistant in
opposite directions, being abolut a 45 to 50 minute drive. Melbourne is
140 km, about 1 hour and 45 minutes by car. The Vline Fast rail service
is available form Castemaine.
Newstead is the local village, with everything available including
pertrol which has recently returned to the local garage. A strong
community feel drives many activities. There is an excellent primary
school and kinder with a rural transaction center ( RTC ) providing
many services including banking.
Sandon comes under the Mount Alexander Shire council.
